Articles Archive for March 2010
I came across this old paper from January 17th, 2007 the other day that had a front page article about our project. There have been god knows how many articles in the newspaper about god knows how many different groups trying to build a skate park in Parkersburg, but this is probably the earliest article about this particular effort. It is interesting looking back on what people were saying back then and now seeing how things have work out, which luckily this time were for the better.
One of the coolest natural skate spots to ever hit Parkersburg is already capped after not even a year, after not even being skated as far as I know. But since they did donate $10,000 to our cause, I’m sure everyone will be okay with this beautiful spot going to waste.
We just had our first Chick-fil-A benefit night and it seemed to go really well. Technically, it was a benefit day because all day long they were accepting receipts for our cause, but some of us from the foundation were there between 5:30 and 8:00 to talk and maybe talk a few people into dropping off their receipts. We don’t have the total just yet, but we will let you know as soon as we do. Thanks everyone who came through.
The tenth annual “Bitter Cold Show Down” skate comp and trade show just took place last weekend at Modern Skatepark in Detroit, MI and over the last few days the video edits have been showing up all of the internet. So I thought I would show off the best of them here.
